Gov. Edduba thanks mayors’ support to 5-day Bodong Agro-Fair


Tabuk City, Kalinga – In his talk during the opening of Bodong Agro-Fair 2023 on Wednesday, February 13, Governor James Edduba took time to express gratitude to the city and municipal mayors with their employees for supporting and preparing for the five-day exhibit.

The efforts exerted for the Tourism Exhibit Kiosks at the Capitol Hills, Bulanao, Tabuk City reflect the local government units’ interest in promoting their agricultural products produced by farmer sector, the governor said.


Vice-Governor Jocel Baac, meanwhile, stressed the vital role of farmers in the economic development.


The Agro-Fair has been staged annually as significant part of Kalinga anniversary Bodong celebration, except during the onslaught of COVID-19 pandemic, as a means of gathering and promoting agricultural producers.


For this year, products displayed include Pasil’s heirloom rice and “tapey”, Balbalan’s

turmeric and banana chips, Tanudan’s fresh eggs and coffee, Tinglayan’s ground coffee and bolo, among other organic produce.

In addition, Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) program recipients who were given livelihood aid by the regional Department of Agriculture likewise highlighted their products at their respective municipalities’ kiosks.


Alongside the opening program was the start of judging in search for the best booth.


Regional Director Jovy Ganongan of the Department of Tourism along with Regional Director Estela P. Leon- Cariño of DepEd – Cordillera and local officials graced said event.


The exhibit runs until Friday, February 17.
