Gov't employee shot dead on the way to see wife who just gave birth

Echague, Isabela – A murder investigation has been launched after a man was fatally shot in front of a private hospital in Ipil, Echague.

The victim, Kendrick Pera, 29, a government employee, was at the health facility Tuesday, Sept. 19, to discharge his wife who had just given birth from the hospital.

While at the entrance area of the Southern Isabela Specialist Hospital, a man wearing a black shirt suddenly approached him and shot him three times, based on caliber 45 bullets recovered at the crime scene.

He was quickly moved into the hospital’s emergency room but was declared dead on arrival.

The suspect, meanwhile, fled the scene using a black Wave motorcycle driven by another man who was also wearing a black shirt and headed in the north direction.

Echague police have already launched a hot pursuit operation and even alarmed nearby police stations for the arrest of the yet-to-be-identified suspects.

To recall, a shooting incident likewise transpired in the province on Monday, Sept. 18, particularly in San Francisco, Cauayan that resulted in the death of a certain Marlon Quijano, whose family is now seeking justice for his untimely death.

Two others, including a barangay captain, are also being observed in separate hospitals in the city after sustaining gunshot wounds in the same shooting incident.
