Grade 10 student in Sta. Marcela, Apayao dies following motorcycle crash

Santa Marcela, Apayao- A tragic motor vehicular incident transpired around 1pm today, April 18,2024 claiming the life of a grade 10 student from Consuelo National High School in Barangay Consuelo, Santa Marcela, Apayao.

Police are yet to determine the cause of the agonizing incident and is now conducting thorough investigation.

However, initial investigation revealed that the tragedy happened along the highway in Barangay Panay, while the victim and a grade 7 student from the same school were onboard a Suzuki Raider heading to the town center.

The Santa Marcela Police responded immediately and rushed him at the Santa Marcela District hospital. However, the victim succumbed to his sustained injuries on his body and head.

The other student, meantime, suffered fracture on his right leg, and was brought to Batac City, according to the security guard of the school.

In an interview, one of his cousins conveyed the victim, whose identity was withheld did not attend school on said day for an equally important matter.

The family is in deep sorrow for the untimely death of the child. His body is now in a funeral parlor in the province.
