Grand celebration of 3rd Pagdadagupan Festival in Tabuk set on May 5 and 6

Updated: Apr 20, 2023

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Various festive activities are lined-up for the 3rd Pagdadagupan Festival of Dagupan Centro on May 5 and 6, two years since its launching.

This was made possible with the now relaxed movement of people in the country after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Punong Barangay George Esteras explained they named their barangay festival as Pagdadagupan since Dagupan Centro is where various tribes come and live together.

“Pagdadagupan kasi ditoy nga naurnong dagiti amin nga tribes – kasla taga Mindanao, Kalinga, Igorot, Muslim, Visayas ken daduma pay,” he said.

Esteras recalled that the pandemic didn’t allow them to hold crowd-gathering activities in 2021 and 2022. He said they settled on giving rice and medical kits to selected recipients the past two years.

Events

But for this year, the punong barangay shared that they prepared a number of events for the constituents of Dagupan Centro and Tabuk City to participate in.

Among the highlights of the festival include the display of ‘diket’ to be made by different tribes residing in Dagupan Centro. The barangay will provide an amount to every entry for them to use in preparing the said dish.

Other events to watch out include the Search for Miss Pagdadagupan 2023 and the Dagupan Got Talent.

Cooperation

Now that the actual celebration of the Pagdadagupan Festival is here, Esteras asked his constituents’ cooperation.

“Irugi tayon. Kayat ko kuma ket cooperation lang ngay kasi haan met nga agbalin iti festival nu awan iti cooperation,” he conveyed.
