Pasil, Kalinga – Residents of Guina-ang and visitors now have enough clean and safe public restrooms to accommodate them, after the completion of the newly built free ‘Manfaruwan’ public restroom situated beside St. Paul Chapel.

The construction of the said project was initiated by the Municipal Councilor and 2nd Kalinga Mobile Force Company Advisory Council member, Ronnie Bawalan, as the barangay’s reward for being cleared from the influence of the communist terrorist groups.

“In-propose ko dayta ta ma-obserbar ko nga nu adda activities idiay, kurang diay public CR ta asideg gamin ti simbaan ken gymnasium. Nu ag-flock ti tattao idiay, talaga nga kumurang diay public CR isu ti gapu nga nangipanan mi idiay abay ti simbaan,” explained the proponent.

Having realized the impact of the project on public health, Acting Force Commander, Police Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Vicente approved Bawalan’s proposal.

The personnel from the Municipal Police Station, including those in Guina-ang, along with the members of their advisory council, contributed from their own pocket to the construction of the ‘Manfaruwan’ project.

Some of the Sangguniang Bayan members, along with Pasil Multipurpose Cooperative, whose manager is a member of the advisory council, also handed assistance for the projects.

The construction of the project started on April 07, 2022.

On Sunday, May 29, the fully furnished public restroom was turned over to the community.

The 2nd KMFC, in a press release, said the stakeholders likewise signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the project maintenance.

Bawalan advised the beneficiaries to guard and make use of the project as intended, so more development may be imposed in the community.
