Sta. Marcela, Apayao – While Internal Revenue Allotment(IRA) is crucial to implementing plans and projects in the government, Congresswoman Eleanor Bulut-Begtang pointed this is not a hindrance to the development of a place.
The congresswoman made this statement during the kick-off of Santa Marcela’s 56th founding anniversary and 19th Balangkoy Festival this June 15 at the Bacut Lake.
Begtang took the chance to convey how inspiring Santa Marcela LGU is as they keep striving even with a limited IRA. Said town is a 4th-class municipality.
“Sincerely ibagak kanyayo nga ti Santa Marcela ket very inspiring kanyak as your leader. Nabaelan yu gamin, manipud pay idi nakitak nga haan nga lapped iti kinabassit iti IRA tapnu agtubo amin ken agbalin amin dagiti plano tayo para iti daytoy a lugar,” she noted.
She relayed how she was constantly asked how Apayao managed this fast development in the province and she answered, “It’s just proper management of funds, nu ammu tayo nga usaren dagiti pondo tayo isu dayta iti maysa nga nakitak iti Santa Marcela nga uray bassit iti pondo nu ammum ti pagikkam iti prioridad mo.”
‘What we are doing now not for ourselves’
The congresswoman emphasized that the government is doing its part to prepare a better future for the next generation. So when she addressed the youth of Santa Marcela and Apayao in her message, she challenged them to be aware of what is happening in their hometown and province.
“Ngangani kamin nga, kuna ni gov ket aging and dilapidated, dakayu iti sumublat[kadakami],” she mentioned, adding that the Apayao officials along with their parents are working harder to provide what they can to hone the youth in becoming a nation builder.
“Appreciate what we are doing because what we are doing now is not for ourselves but it is for you, our dear youth of Apayao and our children of Santa Marcela,” she added.
As the congresswoman turned to all the constituents of Santa Marcela, she noted she doesn’t have to ask the public to support the government as this is already given in the town.
“Makitkitak nu kasanu iti gagar tayo nga sumabat kanyami,” she expressed.
Meantime, Begtang pledged P5 million in funding for the legislative building. This is one of the many funding and projects being provided by the representative to the Municipality of Santa Marcela.
