Half million cash aid awarded to former cadres in Apayao

Apayao, Philippines – More than half a million worth of financial support was awarded to former Communist Terrorist Group members in Apayao on April 03 at Aliwa Gymnasium in San Isidro, Luna.


The aid came from the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the government which assists these former cadres with financial aid as they start over with their lives.


The recent beneficiaries of said program in Apayao are 25 former rebels, according to a report by the 5th Infantry Division (ID).

5ID informed that P15,000 immediate assistance was given to each of the 23 ex-rebels, while the other two, each received P50,000 livelihood assistance.


A P46,000 remuneration was likewise awarded for the surrendered firearms.


Further, P5,000 was given to each of the 23 beneficiaries for additional support for their reintegration process.


The turnover of said financial support was facilitated by the Department of Interior and Local Government and the Apayao Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.


The Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict in Apayao headed by Governor Elias Bulut Jr. and the 17th Infantry Battalion call on the remaining members of CTG to surrender and live a peaceful life with their loved ones.
