Tabuk City, Kalinga – Animals roaming on the road pose risks to drivers. The latest victim is a police officer from Pinukpuk, Kalinga.

Reports showed that stray animals like dogs and cows are among the reasons of road accidents in the Philippines. Cases of riders and drivers crashing into these animals have been reported in different parts of the country, with some motorists losing their lives.

The latest case of stray animals leading to an accident in Tabuk City happened when a cop was driving his Mitsubishi Adventure past 5:00 a.m. on March 19, 2024, as he headed to Bulanao from Pinukpuk.

While he was traversing the national road on FF Cruz, Bulanao, a herd of cattle allegedly coming from nowhere, suddenly appeared and blocked his view.

This caused the vehicle to crash directly at one of the cows, killing the animal and injuring the driver.

The vehicle was severely damaged due to the impact of the collision.

Animal owners are reminded to put their animals in enclosures or leash them to avoid damage to properties or worse loss of life.
