Tabuk City, Kalinga – A 36-year-old police officer in Tabuk City died in a suspected hit-and-run incident while jogging on Friday, December 01, 2023.

Police Master Sergeant Aldrine Agpad who was assigned as one of the Special Weapons and Tactics Philippines (SWAT) team in Tabuk City left their house past 3:00 a.m. to jog and to report to duty after.

However, at 6:30 a.m., he was found injured and lying motionless on the national highway in Barangay Nambaran. He was rushed to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

According to Kalinga Police Spokesperson, PCapt. Ruff Manganip, investigators believe that Agpad was hit by a vehicle due to the debris found near his body.

Manganip added that a person in the area likewise heard a loud crash sound around 3:41 a.m., but he didn’t get out from their house to check what happened.

The vehicle responsible of the incident, meantime, is still being searched by the police and investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footages to track it.

To help in the identification of the suspect, Manganip is calling on the public who saw a car with damaged hood to message PNP Tabuk hotline, 09089000900 or the Kalinga PNP at 09157796556

“Agpanpanawagan tayo latta iti tulong iti publiko nga nu adda man iti makita da nga nadadael iti hood iti maysa a lugan ket itext da latta iti hotline tayo,” Manganip said.
