Hit and Run: Speeding car hit motorcycle in Tabuk City, left two riders injured

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Two riders were left injured on the road after their motorcycle was hit by a ‘speeding’ vehicle on Tuesday night along the national road in Purok 7, Bulanao.

Initial investigation of the police revealed that at around 10:30 p.m. on December 10, an XRM motorcycle ferrying a 17-year-old rider and his 23-year-old back rider was traversing the national road from Bulanao towards their home in Nambaran.

The motorcycle was described to be moving slowly when at the place of incident, a speeding orange Picanto type vehicle allegedly bumped the motorcycle from behind and left the area without checking on the victims.

This impact of collision sent the XRM off balance, bringing the riders down the pavement.

According to the police, the 17-year-old rider sustained minor laceration on his left face, and abrasion on his left knee and feet while the 23-year-old back rider sustained a wound on his head and minor laceration on his hands.

The two were rushed to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital by the responding personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection.

Follow-up investigation on the case is ongoing.
