Hollow block maker shot dead by riding-in-tandem in Sta. Ana, Cagayan

Sta. Ana, Cagayan – A 55-year-old hollow block maker who just went out their house to buy ingredients for his cooking was killed by a riding-in-tandem in Barangay Centro Santa Ana, Cagayan before he could get back inside.

The victim was already in front of their house around 7 p.m. on August 13, when the incident transpired.

Police said the victim identified as Erdy Reolalas was struck by bullets believed to be from a caliber 45 gun based on pieces of evidence left in the area.

Reolalas sustained gunshots wounds on his face, particularly above his eye and various parts of his body.

He was ferried to a medical facility by his wife but was declared dead upon arrival.

As to the suspects, they immediately fled the scene after committing the crime. Police are now conducting hot pursuit operations for their arrest.

Meanwhile, in an interview with a relative of the victim, he disclosed they were unaware of the motive of the suspects as his uncle did not have any enemy while he was still alive.

“Wala kaming idea sir kasi wala naman pong naka-away o kaaway sir at wala din naman nababanggit kaya malaking tanung po samin kung bakit nagawa po nila yun sa kanya,” he stated.

The victim’s family is crying for justice on the death of their loved one.
