Honest restaurant owner in Isabela returns bag with over P.3M cash


Tumauini, Isabela – A businesswoman turned over to authorities a bag pack containing P390,100 and some personal belongings left behind at her restaurant on Thursday, Sept. 14.

At first, the restaurant owner, identified as Jennifer Diaz, 41, took to social media to find out who the owner of the bag pack was.


It was a maroon bag containing the said bundle of cash, a wallet, receipts, cards, and other personal belongings.


The post was tagged to a police officer at Tumauini Police Station, who likewise received a message informing him of the discovered cash.


To verify the reported information, they headed to Diaz’s restaurant, located along the national road in Lalauanan, Tumauini. There, Diaz turned over to them the said bag.

Based on the cards contained in the wallet, the possible owner might be a certain Jeffrey Harada from Pamplona, Cagayan.


Diaz was commended by the Cagayan Valley cops for exemplifying an act of honesty and for not being blinded by the amount of money she found.


At present, the recovered items are now in the custody of Tumauini Police Station while waiting for its claimant.
