Husband and wife operating as ‘Fake Dentists’ arrested in Sablan, Benguet

Sablan, Benguet - A married couple accused of manning a dental clinic without proper documentation in Sablan, Benguet, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group- Baguio on Friday, August 2.

In his interview with local media, CIDG Baguio CFU Chief Reagan Orina relayed that the couple was reported by the Philippine Dental Association as fake dentists.

Following the report, Orina said it was verified and found to be legitimate.

The authorities then proceeded to the place for an entrapment operation. In there, they caught a man who was attaching dental braces to a woman.

When the authorities asked for the man's license, he failed to show anything.  It was later confirmed that he was a fake dentist.

His wife also failed to present her license; thus, the authorities arrested the two.

Various dental procedure equipment was also found inside their three-storey house.

The suspects, whose identities are withheld, are now in the custody of the CIDG-Baguio and will be charged with violating Republic Act 94841 or the Philippine Dental Act of 2007.
