IFSU lone state-funded university in CAR to enter UI GreenMetric World University Ranking

Ifugao, Philippines – Ifugao State University is the only state-funded institution in the Cordillera that made it in the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking (UIGWUR) this year.

UIGWUR ranks universities in the world according to green campus and environmental sustainability factors. It evaluates institutions based on six indicators – setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation, and education and research.

With a total score of 4220, IFSU entered the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking at number 912 worldwide.

The university is number 21 among universities in the Philippines and number two in the Cordillera Region, next to Saint Louis University.

The university president, Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon, attended the unveiling of results at Abu Dhabi University in Dubai on December 5, 2023.

With ‘another feather on their cap’, Dugyon thanked the Commission on Higher Education for their support and for facilitating internationalization among institutions in the region. She likewise credited the award to the IFSU personnel who responded and supported her call to work on the undertaking.

“It manifests your commitment & support to our leadership. Truly, we learned a lot from this journey. May our global ranking inspire us more to continue improving, striding forward, & creating a positive impact for GOD's glory. We're ending the year with Gratitude,” she wrote on Facebook.
