Ifugao, Philippines – Khurvin Jhon “The Ipugo” Natuplag has promised to bounce back after his defeat against 24-year-old Wen Song Liu of China on February 04 at the VIC Sports Complex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The 26-year-old boxer suffered first round technical knockout in his bout to supposedly defend his World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental Featherweight title.

“Sorry everyone. I’ll come back stronger,” he said in his social media post.

In a statement sent to GURU Press Cordillera, he expressed gratitude to his supporters for still keeping up with him and his team despite the unfortunate result.

As to his future plans, he is still waiting for his manager’s decision.

‘Natalo man sa laban, panalo naman sa pagmamahal’

The young boxer may have lost the fight but he won ‘in love’ as he popped the question to his girlfriend who responded, “Yes!” The proposal happened inside the boxing ring.

"Bounce back tayo sa laban! Panalo ka naman sa pag-ibig at pagmamahal! Happy engagement to both of you," congratulated one of his friends.

Natuplag still holds the World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian featherweight title.
