Ifugao OFW in Turkey survived 3 days under rubble after Big Quake

Updated: May 8, 2023

“My life is a living testimony of God’s greatness.” This is how 33-year-old Overseas Filipino Worker from Ifugao describes her life now after getting buried for three days.

Juliva Benlingan, a native of Lagawe town, was under rubbles following the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Turkey recently killing more than 40,000 people.

She endured 3 days under buildings’ debris before she was rescued. The OFW was reported to have sustained multiple wounds and was severely dehydrated when they found her.

Having survived those agonizing 60 hours under a collapsed building, Juliva believed it was a miracle that she survived.

“I will forever proclaim His goodness. It is by God’s grace that I am given this second life. I am forever grateful for God’s mercy and saving power,” she conveyed in a video uploaded on Facebook on February 19.

Juliva who was still at the hospital in Adana, Turkey when the video was taken also acknowledged those who helped and prayed for her recovery.

“Kailangan ko pong lumaban because of my daughter in the Philippines and my family na umaasa sa akin,” she added.

Earlier, two Filipinas were reported dead due to the massive earthquake.
