Ifugao PLGU awards P1M to its 3 municipalities achieving herd immunity


Ifugao, Philippines – The Provincial Local Government Unit of Ifugao awarded a total of P1 million cash incentive to its first three municipalities, which achieved 70% COVID-19 vaccination rate of their target population.


The three grantees, as reported by PTV Cordillera, are Lagawe, Lamut, and Kiangan.

The municipalities attained their vaccination target on December 31, 2021, and received the cash incentive on February 9, 2022.

Lagawe received P500,000 for being the first to reach herd immunity. Lamut followed, getting P300,000 cash, while Kiangan got P200,000 for being the third.


The incentive, according to PIA Ifugao, was approved in one of the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force's deliberations, to recognize the effort of their local government units in order for the whole province to attain the target number of vax rate.

Other Municipalities of Ifugao will likewise receive their incentives once they reach their vaccination target until March 31, 2022.


According to the Department of Health-Cordillera, the province has already fully inoculated 85,764 individuals or 57.42% of the 149,366 target population.
