Ifugao public transport operators get livelihood aid

Lagawe, Ifugao – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-Cordillera (LTFRB-CAR) awarded livelihood assistance to six public transport operators from the Province of Ifugao to help them cope with the impact of Covid-19 pandemic.


The awarding of said livelihood assistance was held on September 30, 2022, at Poblacion North, Lagawe, Ifugao.


Said effort, according to LTFRB-Cordillera Administrative Region, is under the EnTSUPERneur program that is conceptualized by the department and the Office of Transportation Cooperatives (OTC) in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) which aimed at providing an alternative source of income for public transport drivers/ operators especially those affected by the pandemic.

Of said beneficiaries, 5 individuals received 2 heads of piglets, feeds, and vitamins, while 1 received 20 sacks of well-milled rice with a weighing scale.


These materials, according to the said program, will help the beneficiaries to start their livelihood projects such as rice retailing and hog raising.


Representatives from the LTFRB-CAR, OTC, DOLE, and PLGU-Ifugao witnessed the said awarding of the livelihood assistance.


The Provincial Local Government Unit of Ifugao, represented by Kenneth Pugong, Executive Assistant, encouraged the recipients to develop and expand the livelihood assistance given to them.

Dr. Emerito Narag, Officer-In-Charge- Assistant Regional Director of the DOLE-CAR, said that there will be quarterly monitoring by the concerned agencies to check the beneficiaries’ progress and development.


The Assistant Regional Director expressed his gratitude to LTFRB-CAR and other agencies for creating a social program that provides assistance to its stakeholder so that they wouldn’t be left behind.


EnTSUPERneur Program beneficiaries will be expected to establish hog-raising and rice retailing enterprises in their community and boost their income so that they could also help other people.
