Igorot cop assumes command as director of PRO-Western Visayas

Benguet, Philippines – A proud Igorot cop from Amlinay, Buguias, Benguet stepped into a new role as the regional director of the Police Regional Office - Western Visayas.

Police Brigadier General Jack Limpayos Wanky brings with him vast experience garnered from the struggles he conquered from childhood to the various prestigious positions he held.

Wanky was raised in a family where vegetable trading is the main source of income. Their situation inspired him to take up commerce at Saint Louis University. He later joined the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) where he graduated with "Tagapagpatupad" Class of 1992.

After he was first assigned to Mindanao, he held leadership positions across different municipalities in Iloilo and Bacolod City and became the deputy regional director for operations at the PNP National Capital Region Police Office.

Wanky was the first chief-of-staff at the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).

He served as the head of the PNP Aviation Security Group (Avsegroup) before his appointment as the PRO-Western Visayas director.

On Thursday, February 15, he assumed the position formerly held by the outgoing director, Police Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor, who is now set to assume a new role at the Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development (DHRDD) at the PNP National Headquarters in Camp General Rafael Crame, Quezon City.
