Honored and overwhelmed – that is how Cordilleran hunk Kenneth Jhayve Bautista of Itogon, Benguet describes how he feels after nearly clinching the Mr. World Universe International 2022 title in the recently concluded competition held at Sky Hoa Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on July 16.

The first runner-up was also awarded the Best in Question and Answer and Interview.

Further, he was one of the top 3 in the Swimwear competition.

In an interview with GURU Press Cordillera, Bautista said his performance in the international stage is a reflection of the love and support of his team and the Filipino people who served as his inspiration.

“I feel honored and privileged to represent the Philippines, especially the Igorot and Filipino Community and I am really grateful to become part of the winners frame,” he stated.

Bautista expressed his gratitude to his countrymen, saying that their support makes him feel really blessed.

Despite of all the troubles and challenges along and during the event, he said he managed to perform at his best because of those who were with him, enabling him to turn some of his weaknesses into a strength and become an edge to stand out.

Before joining numerous pageants locally and internationally, Bautista first entered in a modelling competition.

Bautista recalled joining the Mr. and Ms Itogon, Mr. Northern Philippines, Mr. Continental Philippines and Mr. Teen International.

Aside from being a pageant veteran, he is a member of Keep Going Baguio – a community organization involved in promoting mental health awareness.
