Tabuk City, Kalinga – One could agree that the Province of Kalinga houses many talents - artists, singers, writers, intellectuals, sports enthusiasts and fighters – name it, and now golfers.

Among the latest who brought pride to the province include a group of golfers collectively known as the Team Kalinga Mountaineers 7 JUBILA. The group is composed of Tristan Jarvis Tolentino, Jeoffrey Peralta, Jaime Ramirez, and Jason Rhoderick Plan.

While golf is not as popular as basketball, iKalinga linksmen are not behind when compared to their counterparts in the Philippines. Such is what the Team Kalinga Mountaineers 7 JUBILA proved in the 2025 and 3rd Cordillera Golfers Foundation Inc. (CGFI) Golf Tournament staged in Baguio City earlier this month of April.

The event which was opened to golfers nationwide gathered around 80 teams, with the squad from Kalinga collecting a total score of 247 in the Regular D category, earning them the title ‘the champion’.

The CGFI Golf Tournament aims at showcasing the talents and skills of the golfers in the Cordillera and in the country, at the same time gathering sports enthusiasts to support community projects such as building schools and other causes with positive impacts in the region.
