iKalinga Paralympians head to Paris for Aug. 28 Paralympics

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Paris 2024 fever is not yet over as Paralympians are set to take over and play for the podium starting August 28.

 

Six para-athletes from the country will be participating in the Paris 2024 Paralympics, and two of them are the pride of Kalinga.

 

Third-time Paralympian Jerrold Mangliwan of Tabuk City will be representing the Philippines in the T52 men’s 400-meter wheelchair racing while Agustina Bantiloc of Tanudan will be competing in archery.

 

Mangliwan and Bantiloc already departed the country for the competition along with fellow para-athletes Ernie Gawilan, Angel Mae Otom, Cendy Asusano, and Allain Keanu Ganapin, according to the Philippine Sports Commission on August 11.

 

The six were sent off by the PSC officials with their respective coaches to prepare for the quadrennial meet in Paris.

 

This year’s Paralympics which will cover 22 sporting events will run from August 28 – September 08, 2024.
