Tanudan, Kalinga – Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag recently travelled abroad to grace the Kalinga OFW Day celebration in Singapore, where he assured the Overseas Filipino Workers that their family in Tanudan will continue to have a safe place to live.

Dagadag, who flew with his wife, attended the event on March 23, 2025, after he was invited as the guest speaker for the 13th founding anniversary of 'OFW Taga Kalinga Kami'. The event was attended not just by the iKalingas but also those coming from the other Cordillera provinces and even from Region 2.

Citing the current peace and order situation in Tanudan where only a few crimes have been committed in the town for the past years, the local chief executive assured the iTanudans in Singapore that the family they left behind in their hometown has a safe place.

“Anusan yu nga adda ditoy nga taga Tanudan, haan ko met mai-promise iti entero a Kalinga, ngem i-promise ko kadagiay taga Tanudan nga ikkak dagiti ubbing yu, ikkak dagiay inbati yu nga pamilya yu iti natalna and safe nga Tanudan,” he said.

As for every OFW in the event, Dagadag told them to keep going on in spite of being away from their home and loved ones.

“Iyanus yu nga umadayu iti pamilya yu, dibale ta iti sukat na met ket maikkan yu iti napintas nga biyag dagiti inbati yu idiay Pilipinas,” the mayor said.

Dagadag also encouraged them to continue following the law of the foreign land they are currently in as he thanked the government of Singapore for looking after the welfare of the Filipinos.
