'Illegal drugs only destroy life, family' - Mayor Dagadag

Tanudan, Kalinga – “Mamin-anuk nga ibaga, dayta droga ket dadaelen na iti biyag ken pamilya,” Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag said this after the arrest of a drug personality in Tanudan recently.

Tanudan police revealed that a certain Virgilio Rosadiño, 53, a resident of Caloocan City, was arrested by joint operatives in Kalinga through a buy-bust operation at Sitio Ampatak, Barangay Babbanoy on August 17, 2023.

The suspect sold a sachet believed to be shabu to an undercover operative while another sachet with the same substance was said to have been recovered from him. The contraband was estimated to be 10 grams and worth P68,000.

The accused was brought to the custody of Tanudan Municipal Police Station and was charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Mayor Dagadag recounted his experience with the illegal substance, stressing it only destroys one’s life including the person’s family and community.

“Talaga nga against nak iti illegal drugs. Kas kanayun ko nga ibaga ti kapadasak panggep dita ket pirmi nga madi. Awan nasayaat nga ited na dayta droga,” he emphasized.

For this reason, the mayor once again told his constituents not to dare try the illegal substance and warned anyone against bringing the contraband into Tanudan.

“Number one nak nga manglapped kadagita sumsumrek nga mapan agilaklaku iti droga. Saan da mapan padpadasen nga iluslusut ti illegal nga droga ti munisipyu tayo,” he stressed.
