Immediate response of health programs in Santa Marcela LGU assured with new patient transport vehicle

Updated: Mar 29

Santa Marcela, Apayao - Immediate emergency response is expected in Santa Marcela, Apayao, as the municipality is provided with a free patient vehicle by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

A Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) was turned over to Mayor Evelyn Martinez during the awarding ceremony led by PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles on March 25, 2024, in Mandaluyong City.

The given vehicle is part of PCSO’s Medical Transport Vehicle (MTV) Donation Program, which aims to provide transportation services to patients needing immediate medical response.

Santa Marcela, along with the municipality of Flora, is among the thirty recipient LGUs in the country to benefit from this program.

Mayor Martinez, in a statement, extended her gratitude for the provision of such a vehicle.

"On behalf of the people of Santa Marcela, we extend our gratitude to His Excellency, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Honorable Melquiades Robles, General Manager of PCSO, Honorable Eleanor Bulut-Begtang, and Honorable Elias Bulut Jr. for this assistance extended to the municipality," she said.

The mayor likewise emphasized the importance of the given vehicle to its constituents, saying, "This one unit of PTV awarded to the Municipality of Santa Marcela will help in the provision of effective and immediate life-saving care through enhanced services and quick responses to our people.”

To recall, PCSO also turned over the same vehicle to the provincial government of Apayao for the second time on February 21, aiming to further boost the province’s emergency response and healthcare services.
