Infuriated man who fired gun at Bacras, Tabuk not targeting frontliners

Tabuk City, Kalinga – An infuriated individual who indiscriminately fired his gun along the national road in Bakras, Bulanao evening of February 1, 2021 was not directing his gun at any individual, according to Police investigation.

Kalinga Police Provincial Director PCol. Davy Vicente Limmong said that based on initial investigation, it was narrated that around 7:30 PM, the unidentified person while riding his motorcycle stopped in front of the Redstar Hotel where frontline workers are quarantined, talked on the phone and later fired his gun.

“Allegedly, may nakamotor na dumaan doon sa tapat lang nung Redstar tapos nakita daw nung gwardiya biglang tumigil na may kausap na galit, tapos nagputok daw doon pero pataas naman daw,” Limmong said.

After firing, the suspect evaded the area. Additionally, the suspect did not direct his gun to anyone nor the quarantine area.

“Wala naman siyang target,” Limmong said.

“Sinabi kasi alleged daw binaril daw yung quarantine area, hindi naman,” he added.

Investigation is still ongoing for the possible identification of the suspect.
