Isabela beauty wins 2023 Miss Tourism Queen Worldwide first runner-up

Updated: Aug 5, 2023

Isabela, Philippines – A beauty queen from Alicia, Isabela who waved the Philippine banner bested 14 other hopefuls to emerge as 2023 Miss Tourism Queen Worldwide first runner-up during the grand final night on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

Held in Bangkok, Thailand, the beauty extravaganza is staged annually to ‘promote harmony and diversity through beauty pageant showcasing the majestic sights, colorful festivities, exquisite food, customs, traditions and the arts.’

Rachel Bayan from Barangay Antonino, Alicia earned the privilege to represent the country in the particular tilt when she was crowned Miss Tourism Philippines Worldwide 2022 in December last year. That time, she likewise received recognition for having been named Best in Long Gown and Best in Tourism Video.

Taking her performance to a higher level, Rachel flaunted Philippine tourism through her beautiful physique and intelligence.

Her national costume titled “Dyesebel ng Perlas ng Silangan” designed by Michael Barassi and team outshined others, thus winning the Best in National Costume.

Inspired by the purity of the heart of her fellow Filipinos, she walked elegantly in a golden evening gown created by Vinze Asuncion.

Rachel took the question and answer portion to point out her stand on beauty.

“The standard of beauty goes beyond the physical appearance of a person. I believed that it always comes from the heart, the soul, and the mind. It is about how we make an impact on the people around us and that’s the most beautiful thing that we don’t see on their beauty, appearances but what comes from their heart and that is the intangible things,” she underscored.

Her ‘kababayans’ are proud of Rachel’s accomplishment in said feat.

Winners

Winning the search was Paulina Starosielec of Poland, while Amelie Waygandt of Germany, Princess Bih Wandi Tita of Cameroon, and Wendy Thuy Nguyen of Vietnam settled as 2nd to 4th runners-up, respectively.
