ISELCO I power rate drops in September

Updated: Sep 19, 2022

Isabela, Philippines – Consumers in areas served by Isabela I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ISELCO 1) expects lesser electric bill this September 2022 due to the decrease in generation charge or the cost of power generated and sold to the distribution utility.

ISELCO 1, on Thursday, announced that the P1.5222/kWh (kilowatt-hour) decrease in said rate of residential consumers was brought about by the changes in the variable factors such as the Foreign Exchange Rates, Consumer Price Index, Global Coal Price Index, among other components.

“Significantly, there was a decrease in price on WESM (Wholesale Electricity Spot Market) purchases from P17.2532/kWh from last month to P1.1695/kWh this month and San Miguel Energy Corporation (SMEC) from P11.6702/kWh to P10.7690/kWh,” explained the electric cooperative.

Low voltage consumers or those whose lines carry a range of 240 to 480 volts of electricity will expect a P1.5222/kWh decrease on their monthly bill.

On the other hand, high voltage consumers or those users whose electric connections are tapped into the distribution utility's primary lines or those lines that come before the transformer will experience P1.3116/kWh decrease.

Despite the decrease in their power rate, consumers are reminded to conserve electricity.

ISELCO 1 covers the Alicia, Angadanan, Cabatuan, Cordon, Echague, Jones, Luna, Ramon, Reina Mercedes, San Agustin, San Guillermo, San Isidro, San Mateoand, Cauayan City, and Santiago City.
