Faculty and staff of the Isabela State University-Ilagan Campus will no longer need to file their leave requests using traditional means of filling out and submitting leave forms, as they can now do it online through the app created by one of the university’s graduating students.

Judy Jay Pascua, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology student at said school, created an innovative application called “ Leavewise,” which he designed to streamline the tracking of employee leave balances, including leave credits, vacation leave, and sick leave, among other types of leave.

With Leavewise, employees at the university can now file their leave requests conveniently as they only need to log in to the app, helping them save time and reduce administrative workload.

Apart from its user-friendly design, the app includes other modern features tailored to the needs of Human Resources operations, aiming to improve overall efficiency and organization within the university’s ICT department.

In its Facebook post, ISU-Ilagan said that the app was created by Pascua as part of his capstone project, a major academic requirement for graduating IT students at ISU.

Pasua’s project received praise from Dr. Alfonso R. Simon, Cluster Executive Officer of ISU-Ilagan, to whom he presented the features of his app with the support of his professor and adviser, Angelo Gamara.

Pascua also gained traction online after his creation was shared by university on its Facebook page and was featured by various local media outlets in Isabela.
