Jealous husband stabs barangay kagawad in Isabela

Isabela, Philippines – A jealous husband stabbed a barangay kagawad believed to be his wife’s lover in Cauayan City, Isabela on January 3, 2023.


Suspect Rizal Manuel, 34, allegedly attacked barangay kagawad Danilo Leonador, 55, at the latter’s house in Barangay Villa Flor around 6:00 in the evening, the Cauayan City police reported as cited by XFM Santiago City.

Manuel proceeded to the area after having been informed that the victim has a supposed affair with his wife, challenging him in a fistfight.


The victim faced the suspect and tried to talk with him. However, this led to a commotion until the suspect stabbed Leonador in his stomach using an ice pick.


The older man was rushed to the hospital by his relatives while the suspect was arrested by the responding police. He was charged with frustrated homicide.
