Jeepney road crash in Rizal, Kalinga injures 4

Rizal, Kalinga–A supposed family outing did not end well when their vehicle crashed against a tree in Sitio Alibangbang, Liwan West Thursday morning, June 24, while on their way to a resort in Kalinga.


The accident resulted in hurting at least four people out of the 20 passengers.


Those who sustained injuries are ages 10, 11, 25 and 56 years old.


Case investigator, Police Staff Sergeant Henry Tuluan Jr., said that the jeep came from Solana, Cagayan and along the way fetched some of their relatives in Liwan West.


While traversing the national road in Sitio Alibangbang, the jeep’s tire rod end broke while they were at a curve and ascending portion of the road.


“Natukkol diay tire rod end na isu ta na-lost control diay driver iti manibela ta haan nan maimanobra isuna,” Tuluan described.

In order not to fall to a ravine, the driver drove straight to a tree at the side of the road.


Responders from the Rural Health Unit of Rizal applied first aid to the three who sustained minor wounds while the 56-year-old woman who had 2 inches laceration on her head was brought to Juan M. Duyan Memorial District Hospital.


According to the investigator, the victims’ relatives came to pick them and brought them home to Solana, Cagayan.
