Join 2024 Young Farmers Challenge and win P.3M in grants

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Following the awarding ceremony for the winners of the 2023 National Young Farmer’s Challenge allowing them to take home financial grants amounting to P300,000 each, the competition opens anew for this year’s edition.

 

The Department of Agriculture – Cordillera through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division announced Wednesday, June 18, that the pre-registration is now open for the start-up category of the competition.

 

The start-up category is open to young people, either individual or group, who have plans of establishing an agri-fishery enterprise.

 

Applicant should be 18-30 years old, a natural-born Filipino citizen, and have the resources, network, or capability to venture in agriculture and fishery business enterprise within the region.

 

For groups, members should qualify in the aforementioned criteria and should not be related up to the second civil degree of consanguinity or affinity.

The DA-AMAD noted that the pre-registration will only be opened until July 21, 2024.

 

To recall, provincial winners in Kalinga have been granted P80,000 each during the competition last year.

 

In the regional level, winners took home P150,000 financial grant. If able to secure a spot in the national level competition, participants are entitled of P300,000 each which they can utilize in developing their agri-fishery enterprise.
