KAELCO cites reason for not having General Manager as of yet

Tabuk City, Kalinga – In response to the queries of consumer-members asking why Kalinga Electric Cooperative, Inc. (KAELCO) has no General Manager who should be responsible in addressing their concerns, the cooperative said they are adhering to the requirements and processes.

During the second energy summit held earlier this week at Sangguniang Panlalawigan Hall, Christine Wangdali, the President of Bangko Montañosa, directed her still unresolved complaint to KAELCO officers and voiced that her complaint could have been settled if the electric cooperative has a manager to take charge of it.

“My complaint is, in Callagdao, we are just 1 and a half kilometer from KAELCO and the three posts of NGCP (National Grid Corporation of the Philippines) is within our property line, they cannot even give us electricity in that area. Until now awan ti manager nga mang-address idiay… and we do not know where to follow up our complaint,” stated Wangdali.

The complaint, she said, was voiced to KAELCO two years ago.

Board President Isaac Baliang acknowledged that, indeed, the electric cooperative does not have a GM yet since 2017 as they are following the rigorous selection process, as provided by National Electrification Administration (NEA).

“Di adda ti in-endorse mi, inbagsak met ti NEA. Tatta manen, kuna mi ti department head, sige ag-training kayo ta ag-apply kayo manen so inyopen mi manen iti application, agu-uray kami nu anya ti na-qualify,” he conveyed.

“So fellow consumer, pagpasensya an yu nu engana tatta apay nga awan ti GM ta talaga nga pinanindigan mi nga idaan mi ti process,” added Baliang.

Wangdali’s complaint to be resolved

On resolving Wangdali’s complaint, Technical Manager, Engr Dominic Ayaen assured that a funding for the NGCP posts has already been given a green light by the NEA but the work will still be up for bidding.
