Kalinga BM Tarnate remains regional chairman of provincial board members league in CAR

Benguet, Philippines - Kalinga Board Member Lester Lee Tarnate shall continue as the chairman of the Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines - CAR (PBMLP-CAR) as its members decided to let him continue to lead the group.

The decision to reappoint Tarnate was done during PBLMP-CAR meeting held at Jewels Igorot Hotel in La Trinidad, Benguet on September 15-17, 2022, with said event participated in by provincial legislators from the region.

During his talk, Tarnate underscored the challenges and difficulties the league faced during the height of the pandemic and the consequences of the limitations imposed. He added that while they as a league has not complete many of the plans and projects, they were able to focus on helping the provinces in the legislation of needed ordinances to respond to the problems posed by the Covid-19 situation.

Tarnate also encouraged his fellow legislators to push through with what they have started, especially that the virus is now manageable.

“Namnamaek nga diay gagar tayo… our passion and desire years ago can be rekindled and fired up in this meeting, so we can begin towards the direction of reviving the plans we had and realizing them in this league,” said Tarnate.

“Dawatek koma nga agtitinnulong tayo nga maisayangkat tayo ti mas nataltalged nga proyekto ken programa para kadagiti probinsiya tayo,” Tarnate added.

Some of the plans, Tarnate mentioned, include sourcing of funds for the advocacies of the league – especially concerns on livelihood, agriculture, peace and order and issues on environment, solving endemic or similar problems besetting a particular province, and working on strengthening relations and camaraderie as members of the league.
