Kalinga brings Comelec services closer to voters in town

Tabuk City, Kalinga – To make voter registration and other services of the Commission on Elections simple and accessible, the Office of the Provincial Election Supervisor collaborated with the Kalinga local government and Kalinga State University for the establishment of a satellite registration site.


The Office of the Governor through its Information Services affirmed its support for the poll body’s initiatives in providing easier access to the agency’s services.

Voter registrants of the different municipalities who are in town no longer need to go home to process their registration. They can register at the Kalinga Sports Center at the Capitol Hills where a satellite registration site will be set up from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 25 and 26. The same site was established at the KSU gymnasium from Monday to Tuesday.


All Municipal/City Electoral Officers will be at the site, says the local Information Officer Dionica Mercado in her exclusive interview with Station 1 radio.


Other than voter registration, Comelec also accepts changes or corrections of entries, reinstatement of names on the list of voters, and applications for transfer, among other services.


Requirements

For first-time voters or for those who will transfer their registration, they need to bring one or more of the following documents: Postal ID, PWD Discount ID, Student’s ID or Library card, Senior Citizen’s ID, Driver’s License, NBI Clearance, Passport, SSS/GSIS ID, IBP ID, PRC License, NCIP Certificate of Confirmation, or any other valid ID with stated address.

For cases of name change due to marriage, order of the Civil Registrar or Consul General, bring the original or Certified True Copy of any of the following: Certification by the solemnizing officer, Marriage contract or court order with a certificate of finality, Order by the Civil Registrar or Consul General.


Voter registration ends on Jan. 31, 2023.
