Tabuk City, Kalinga – Kalinga Province has finally selected its athletes to compete in the 2025 Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) Meet, following the conduct of Provincial Athletic Meet on January 22 – 25 in Tabuk City.

The selected athletes came from around 3,000 young players across different municipalities who battled their way into the list.

In the four-day event, delegates from the Municipality of Rizal did not disappoint their town after they delivered a total of 77 gold medals in the competition, earning them their second-straight overall win in the Kalinga Sports Festival. It could be recalled that last year, the delegation was proclaimed the champion with 80 gold medals haul.

Coming second is the Municipality of Pinukpuk with 67 gold, followed by Balbalan with 59. Additionally, taking the fourth spot is Tanudan with 47 gold medals; Pasil is 5th with 31 gold; Tinglayan, 6th, with 27 gold; and Lubuagan, 7th with 6 gold medals.

The winning athletes in each of the events will form this year’s Kalinga delegation in the 2025 CARAA Meet in Benguet.

Leaders, from Governor James Edduba to the different local chief executives in the province, have committed their support to the athletes, encouraging them to train and to learn from their journey to the biggest sporting event in the Cordillera region, the CARAA Meet.

Kalinga leaders are hopeful of a better result this year.
