Tabuk City, Kalinga – The observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day in the province was generally peaceful with no untoward incidents recorded, according to the Kalinga Police Provincial Office.

Days before and during the observance of the holidays, the Kalinga Police Provincial Office deployed its personnel to patrol and monitor the different cemeteries and memorial parks for the ‘Ligtas Undas 2022’ until November 3.

Police Captain Ruff Manganip, Kalinga Police Information Officer, told Guru Press Cordillera that the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day in the province was under control and in order.

There were a few who tried to bring in prohibited materials like sharp objects and alcoholic beverages into the cemeteries but were intercepted at the entrance and were asked to surrender the objects before visiting the graves of their departed loved ones.

“Generally peaceful, wala namang nagyari. Awan Iti untoward incidents nga nai-record tayo nga related iti Undas,” he said.

Manganip said that the early information dissemination played a huge factor in the peaceful observance of ‘Undas’ in the province.

He said that it allowed the people to be informed and be reminded about the dos and don’ts and what to and what not to bring when they visit the tombs.

The Philippine National Police Cordillera deployed around 1,456 police from the different units in the region to ensure peace and order during the All Souls’ and All Saints’ Day this year.
