Kalinga LGU receives award from DOH-CAR for COVID-19 efforts

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Department of Health – Cordillera awarded on Thursday, June 23, 2022 the Provincial Local Government of Kalinga under the Tubban administration for its unwavering efforts and sacrifices, contributing to the overall success of COVID-19 vaccination operations.


Kalinga LGU received a plaque of recognition, a token, and a P50,000 cash incentive from the regional health department during the "Binnadang Para sa Resbakuna Awards: Recognizing and Celebrating the Cordillera Spirit of Solidarity for COVID-19 Vaccination" at the Baguio Convention Center.

The province is one with the highest accomplishment in the immunization of the pediatric population, fully vaccinating more than 60% of the target population.


The department likewise applauded the leadership of Governor Ferdinand Tubban.


The awards for the province were accepted by Provincial Administrator Atty. William Puday Jr. representing Tubban, Executive Assistant Elizabeth Balais II, Information Officer Dionica Legasi and Development Management Officer Lilia Rose Say-awen.


Top Performing Municipalities in Kalinga


Meanwhile, the top three performing municipalities in the province were also duly recognized with the same plaques and P50,000 each.


The said amount shall be downloaded to the Treasury Office of the local government units of Rizal, Balbalan and Pinukpuk.


COVID-19 Vax Update


According to DOH – Cordillera, Kalinga have fully inoculated a total of 148, 487 or 82.61% of its 179, 754 target population.
