Kalinga National High School wins 2023 Bodong Fest's street dance contest

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Kalinga National High School outshined nine other performers to win the Street Dance competition, one of the most awaited event for this year’s Bodong Festival.


Held at the rotunda along Manuel S. Agyao Boulevard on Monday, February 13, the competition depicted the Bodong theme, “Lumin-awa Kalinga.” Each contingent showcased their costumes and handheld props based on their own culture, values, tourist destinations, and other “pride of place.”


Though the KNHS team faced challenges in joining the competition as confessed by their coach, their entry was chosen by the panel of judges as the winner thus, receiving P45,000 cash prize and P35,000 cash assistance, with a trophy worth P5,500 and a plaque of recognition and certificates.

Lubuagan National High School got P35,000 cash prize, P30,000 cash assistance, and a trophy worth P4,500 for ranking second, while Rizal National High School of Arts and Trades received a total of P60,000 cash prize and assistance, and a trophy worth P3,000 as third placer.


Malagnat National High School which landed fourth was given a P50,000 cash prize and assistance, and a P1,500 worth of trophy.


Kalinga State University - Laboratory High School, meantime, got P10,000 for winning the best banner.

Entries were scored based on their overall performance (40%), choreography (20%), costume (15%), and props (15%).


Said event was sponsored by Governor James Edduba ,Vice Governor Jocel C. Baac, Caltex CEO Ms. Aileen Campos, Engr. Ruby A. Uyam, Richard Dulliyong, Lumin-awa medical team led by Dr. Edward Tandingan, and Graceland Panciteria.
