Located at Talaca View Deck, Barangay Malalao, Tabuk City, Kalinga, the center prominently exhibits the best of local products.
The inauguration, held on February 9, 2024, was a resounding success and a notable milestone in the region’s progress.
Rev. Father Koshi Cris Dupa-as bestowed his blessings upon the newly constructed Agbannawag Multi-Purpose Building in a solemn ceremony, imbuing a profound sense of sanctity and benevolence into the establishment.
Congressman Allen Jesse C. Mangaoang has announced that his office, in collaboration with the DPWH Lower Kalinga District Engineering Office, has initiated the project, which includes a view deck and comfortable restrooms.
The center is intended to cater to tourists, visitors, and the people of Kalinga, providing them with a platform to exhibit their local products to the Lumin-awaan of Kalinga through its Serbisyun Mankapiyaan Programs.
According to Congressman Mangaoang, the DTI Kalinga Provincial Office will assist in promoting and displaying local products.
The aforementioned project has received funding amounting to P13 million. However, there is still a need for additional funding to improve the basement and enhance perimeter security.
On behalf of Governor James S. Edduba, Johnny Maymaya conveyed his unequivocal support for this venture, underlining its significant role in boosting local enterprises and nurturing a sense of community pride.
Acting City Mayor Dick G. Bal-o stressed Tabuk City’s prominence as a gateway to the province and its representation as the epitome of Kalinga. He underscored the significance of the project, highlighting its alignment with Tabuk’s strategic plan of emerging as a prominent business hub and fostering overall development in the foreseeable future.
Department of Trade and Industry PD Renie Ramos emphasized the project’s significant impact on the province and conveyed his appreciation to all officials for their steadfast support of the DTI project.
He assured that the Pasalubong Center will showcase local products from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which present difficulties in efficiently overseeing and supervising operations to ensure their triumph.
With the opening of the Kalinga Pasalubong Center, a new era of progress and sustainability begins for Kalinga.
This establishment holds the promise of not only inspiring future generations but also driving economic progress and empowering communities through sustained cooperation and commitment.
