Kalinga PLGU commends teachers with national, international awards

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Teachers in Kalinga province, who went the extra mile and gained national or international citations, did not go unnoticed.


Alongside the Provincial Teachers’ Day celebration on Sept. 29 held at the Sports Center, Kalinga provincial local government commended at least 14 national and international teacher-achievers.

Among the awardees include Raymar M. Galinggan who was hailed last year as Outstanding Educator of the Philippines; Judith A. Sagayo who was honored with the FLORA Award for her outstanding contributions to rural education; Ramonchito A. Soriano; Joshua B. Lasegan; Jenny Claire B. Pecua; Janice Y. Morgia; Jaime C. Cabalan Jr.; Paul Francis L. Quines; and Rogelio R. Bosi.


Governor James Edduba, assisted by other officials, likewise conferred recognition certificates to Antonia M. Caling, national awardee with her outstanding performance as a School Head; Janine A. Paga, the National Most Outstanding Teacher Adviser of the Student Supreme Council; and the official coaches in the national competitions - Paulina A. Atluna, Jayson C. Carillo, and Alfredo Casaldo.


In his talk during the event, Edduba extended his salutation to the achievers and all other teachers, as he reiterated his administration’s support for the development of those in the education sector.


To recall, the governor earlier approved the allocation of P3 million for the Capability Building for Teaching and Non-Teaching personnel of Department of Education-Kalinga. The funds, according to the province, were extracted from the office funds of various provincial officials.
