Kalinga PLGU congratulates lone yKalinga to graduate from Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific


Tabuk City, Kalinga – Governor James Edduba and the whole provincial government congratulated the lone yKalinga to graduate from Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific.


Daniel Dave D. Maling of Bulo, Tabuk City is among those who finished Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation on May 26 in Alasasin, Mariveles, Bataan.


Maling is a product of St. Toni’s College where he took his elementary education, St. William’s Academy for his Junior High, and Laboratory High School of Kalinga State University for his Senior High.

After passing a series of competitive entrance examination stages, he entered the seafaring profession at MAAP which is one of the first maritime schools to adopt new simulation-based training tools for years.


There, he became Acting Company Safety Officer and was an active member of the Dracarheas Class of 2022.


He was trained to be consistently honest and trustworthy in work even without supervision (integrity), and have the ability to motivate himself regardless of emotional state leading towards hard work and persistence to get one's job done (self-discipline).


Likewise, the training had equipped him to strive for the highest personal and institutional achievement in all aspects of work, individual and community action, and life-long learning (excellence), and to be bounded by the culture of unity and deeper understanding of teamwork as people bound together in one in spirit, sentiment, and purpose (family).


The provincial government expressed pride for Maling who is now ready to pursue a career in the maritime industry.
