Tabuk City, Kalinga—The provincial government of Kalinga honored its fallen hero PAF Major Jude Salang-oy for his invaluable contributions to the country throughout his military career through a Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution.

On March 12, 2025, the Kalinga PLGU, headed by Governor James Edduba, held a necrological service at the Provincial Capitol to recognize his gallantry.

Other Kalinga officials who attended the event included Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang, Board Member Atty. Danzel Langkit, Pasil Mayor Chao-ig Malannag, among others.

During the service, Salang-oy’s exceptional bravery was commended by the province. The SP Resolution No. 2025-074, read by Langkit, praised the fighter jet pilot for "exceptional bravery, professionalism, and selfless service" to the Philippine Air Force.

The resolution describes Salang-oy as having exemplified the ‘highest ideals of patriotism and heroism,’ making his untimely demise a significant loss ‘not only to the Philippine Air Force (PAF) but also to the nation.’

“Major Jude Salang-oy demonstrated exceptional bravery, professionalism, and selfless service throughout his career, embodying the highest ideals of patriotism and heroism. His untimely demise is a great loss, not only to the Philippine Air Force, but also to the entire nation, as he exemplified unwavering commitment to duty and the defense of the country and the Filipino people,” the resolution reads.

The award was presented to the mother, wife, and sister of Salang-oy by the said officials during said event.

The PAF also paid homage to the latter by conducting a flower drop from their two Black Hawk helicopters, a gesture that showed the profound respect and admiration the military holds for their fallen comrade.

“May his dedication and service be forever remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this time of sorrow,” the provincial government of Kalinga, through its Information Office, further expressed.
