Tabuk City, Kalinga - Two proposed farm-to-market roads in Kalinga will be lobbied by the provincial government for funding this year.

These are the P299 million worth Pinukpuk Junction-Pakawit-Binansagan FMR in Pinukpuk and the P180 million worth Balinciagao Sur-Magsilay-Malucsad FMR in Pasil.

In a press release by the provincial government, it relayed that an onsite visit for assessment of said roads was made by the consultants of the Subproject appraisal committee from the Department of Agriculture - Provincial Rural Development Program iBuild from July 13-14.

This is to ensure that the detailed engineering design matches the current condition of said roads to avoid possible modifications during its implementation, including compliance with Social and Environment Safeguards.

Following the site visit, the committee is expected to give their recommendations in a technical review session which will take place in Banaue, Ifugao next week.

The technical review team will come from the Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO), the National Project Coordination Office (NPCO), and the Project Support Office.

After which, another review shall be done at the provincial level before it will be forwarded to the Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) for approval.

It will be given back to the Project Support Office for checking before its transmittal at the Regional Project Coordination Office.

"With the following developments, the provincial government is positive that the abovementioned roads are on deck for priority funding under the Provincial Rural Development Program," the provincial government conveyed.
