Kalinga Police Director Domallig files courtesy resignation

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The top police official of Kalinga province also heeded the call to file a ‘courtesy resignation’ to pave the way to cleansing the Philippine National Police ranks.


It was on the first week of January 2023 when the Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. called on police colonels and generals to submit their courtesy resignation which will mean automatic retirement with benefits should President Ferdinand Marcos accept it.


Before the ball go to Marcos’ court, these high-ranking officials’ records will be scrutinized by a five-man committee to see if they have links to the illegal drug trade in the country.

Kalinga Police Provincial Director, PCol. Charles Domallig confirmed to GURU Press Cordillera that he filed his courtesy resignation on Friday, January 6, 2023.


Another high-ranking yKalinga police, PCol. Francisco Bulwayan who is currently leading the uniformed men and women in Baguio City submitted his courtesy resignation as well.


Domallig and Bulwayan are among the 16 colonels and 2 brigadier generals in the Cordillera who accepted the call of Secretary Abalos.


Cordillera Police Regional Director, PBGen. Mafelino Bazar conveyed in his statement that the said police officials in the region unanimously agreed to tender their resignation. This is to support the intention to cleanse the ranks of the PNP organization.


"I support and accept the challenge na mag-render ng courtesy resignation, with all of the 3rd level officers ng PROCOR (2 Police Brigadier Generals and 16 Police Colonels), napag-usapan namin na unanimously na mag0render ng courtesy resignation at i-submit yung resignation letter addressed to the President," he said.
