Kalinga Police remains Best Provincial Forensic Unit in the Philippines

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Provincial Forensic Unit of Kalinga has been named the Best Provincial Forensic Unit (Category B) in the entire country; this is the second time they were awarded said title.


The nationwide search centered on the administrative, operation, and strategic management of the units.


The unit received their award during the 77th anniversary celebration of the PNP Forensic Group held at PNP Multi-Purpose Center, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City this June 15, 2022.


Plaque of recognition was handed over by PNP Officer-in-Charge Vicente Danao Jr. to Chief Regional Forensic Unit of Cordillera Nerino Daciego on behalf of PFU-Kalinga.


Measures which qualified the unit as the country’s Best PFU


PFU-Kalinga was able to solve cases efficiently and perform exemplary operations.


Among the impact programs of the unit is its partnership with the Project SAGIP (Securing Education through Accessible Sharing for Gifted but Deprived Learners by the Indigenous Partners Abroad) of Kalinga National High School (KNHS).

The project aimed at helping deprived and struggling students by providing learning kits and educational gadgets. This is in line with PNP’s mandate to promote ‘Bayanihan’ in times of crisis.


In addition, the unit formed a local organization for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Asexual (LGBTQIA) in Tabuk City.


PFU-Kalinga expressed gratitude to its stakeholders, recognizing them as ones behind their success.

PFU-Kalinga is headed by Officer-in-Charge, PMAJ Gina Claire Bentican with Administrator and Operation PCO Benedict Bartolome.
