Kalinga police send relief assistance to ECQ-affected families

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Philippine National Police in the province extends relief assistance in the form of food packs to individuals greatly affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine imposed on the city as means to ease their burden while the lockdown continues to torment the poor.

The aid was made possible through the voluntary monetary contributions of Kalinga Police Provincial Office personnel as well as through a fund raising facilitated by Atty. Kristen Banganan.

KPPO Chief PCADU, PLtCol. Richard Gadingan said that they distributed the first wave of their relief packs which contain 5 kilograms rice, noodles, and canned goods to 23 ECQ affected families in San Francisco, Barangay Dagupan Weste on February 8.

“Yung mga nakuha naming fund ay galing po yon sa voluntary contribution namin sa PNP para po mapurchase yung maibigay namin ... Yung talagang hinanap namin yung mga medyo less fortunate [as beneficiaries],” he said.

Gadingan added that they are still identifying additional families possibly afflicted by extended belt-tightening measure to survive. The police officer said that should private individuals desire to help by sharing what they have to others, their office is willing to deliver the help instead of them.

The relief operation is in consonance with the PNP’s Kapwa Ko Sagot Ko and Rektang Konek Bayanihan Foodbank, both aim at providing relief packs to families during the pandemic and during calamities.

“Kahit simpleng mga bagay o simpleng tulong na mai-extend natin sakanila, napakasaya ‘yong mukha natin na makatulong,” said Gadingan.
