Kalinga police wins Best Provincial Forensic Unit for the 3rd time

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Kalinga police remain the Best Provincial Forensic Unit(Category B) in the Philippines, marking their third win of the said citation this year.


The Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit(PFU) will be receiving the award during the 78th-anniversary celebration of the Philippine National Police Forensic Group this May 18 at Camp BGen. Rafael Crame in Quezon City.

While they have been winning the award consecutively since 2021, the Kalinga PFU personnel remain efficient in solving and examining cases.


Among their accomplishments include performing and completing 615 laboratory examinations from January to December 2022. They likewise processed 13 crime scenes within the said period.


They also conducted two field laboratory works which covered the collection of specimens for drug tests and other activities.


The Kalinga PFU team also testified in 136 cases to support the prosecution of criminal cases.

Apart from their duty in the field of forensics, the Kalinga PFU also lends their services to the community through Police Information and Continuing Education and also through an adopt a family and school program.


The unit distributed learning kits, school supplies, and grocery items to some deserving and indigent students at the Kalinga National High School last year. They likewise extended financial assistance and grocery items to an 11-year-old with cerebral palsy in Barangay Balong in December 2022.


In 2021, the Kalinga PFU also bagged the Best Scene of Crime Operation (SOCO) Team award.
