Kalinga political candidates pledge for peaceful, orderly May 2025 polls

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Political aspirants in the Province of Kalinga pledged to uphold a peaceful and orderly May 2025 polls in the province on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

 

These political candidates from congressman down to board members showed their commitment to harmonious elections by attending the Unity Walk from White Carabao to the Kalinga Sports Center in Bulanao and by signing the peace covenant.

 

Tabuk Election Officer, Atty. Gustavo Dalen, in his message, reminded the candidates that the goal is to achieve a clean and honest May 2025 elections. Thus, the signing of the peace covenant symbolizes the political aspirants’ cooperation and dedication in sustaining a peaceful electoral process in Kalinga.

 

One of the officials who also delivered their message in the event was DILG Kalinga Provincial Director Anthony Manolo Ballug who emphasized that the election is the time for voters to exercise their right to decide on who will be their next leaders in the coming three years.

 

While voters have different bets and while all political candidates want to win, he reminded everyone that respect should still be observed because at the end of the day, after the election period, the constituents of the province are still one iKalingas.

 

“Remember the election period is just a few months only. The election day is one day. Nu nalpas election back to normal. But the respect should always be there,” he said.

 

Among the political candidates who signed the peace covenant include Kalinga representative candidates, Mayor Sacrament Gumilab, Dr. Caroline Agyao, and Ret. PBGen. Steve Ludan; gubernatorial candidates, Governor James Edduba and Vice Governor Jocel Baac; Vice Governor candidate, Board Member Danzel Langkit; and Kalinga Board Member aspirants, Ret. PBGen. Alfredo Dangani and Atty. Chris Donaal.
