Kalinga products being sold in IMPAKABSAT trade fair at SM Baguio

Kalinga, Philippines – Many local products from Kalinga are sold at Atrium, SM Baguio from August 13-19, 2022 through the IMPAKABSAT trade fair of Department of Trade and Industry-Cordillera.


Said IMPAKABSAT program supports Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises from different provinces in Cordillera for market promotion and increase in sales. The fair started on July 16 and is set to end on August 19, 2022.

The products are one of the best locally made produce from the province which include Kalinga “Unoy or Chong-ak’ rice, locally made furniture and fixtures, woodcraft, bamboo craft, loom woven products, fresh and processed foods, gifts, housewares and decors, organic and natural products, and fashion accessories.


DTI-Kalinga said that 15 MSMEs from the province participated in the event. Additionally, there were two ‘mambabatok’ or hand-tapped tattoo artists from Buscalan, Tinglayan who joined the fair, demonstrating their talents. The agency said that basic ‘batok’ fee starts at P1,000.

Meantime, provincial director of DTI-Kalinga encouraged those in Baguio to support and patronize the local products of MSMEs in Kalinga by buying the products sold at SM as they need not go to Tabuk to get them.


“We encourage everyone to support our MSMEs, go local buy local nga kunada, so please patronize our products, maximize the presence of our MSMEs here in SM Baguio ta haan kayo mapmapan en idiay Tabuk, in our province, nandito na,” expressed Renie Ramos, Provincial director of DTI-Kalinga.
